Happy Thanksgiving – 2018

I hope that if you’re celebrating Turkey Day this year, I hope it’s a good one for you and everyone you celebrate with!

As for myself, I’ll admit that the last week and a half has been a bit of a RL struggle. My dad was ill and ended up in the emergency room two weekends ago, and has been in several stages of the hospital ever since. Thankfully, my sister came in to help with the household (though she’s on her way home now), because it’s a challenge to juggle hospital visits, work, my own household and my mom… it’s been quite the dose of RL responsibilities.

However, that all aside, the bottom line is my dad is recovering (has gone through two procedures) from something that could have very likely killed him if he hadn’t gotten medical attention. We’re trying to avoid surgery if at all possible, and will know in about a week if that’s going to be a thing or not.

We’re going to be spending our Thanksgiving up at the hospital to visit him this year, which is a little bit of a bummer. But I’d rather that than not spend it with him at all.

So, that being said, even if you have to hang out with a bunch of family this year you’d rather not see, do be thankful if they’re in decent health and can gather together in a home (yours, theirs, wherever). For those who are on hard times, I send my best wishes and prayers.
