March Gaming Goals in Review

Posted on March 31

I actually did a pretty great job of meeting all my goals this month, even the ones I doubted I’d meet (Umbrite Relic Stage). I spent most my gaming time between Zelda: BotW and FFXIV, as expected. Now that I’ve gotten further into Zelda, I can make next month’s goal a bit more specific.

FFXIV: Patch 3.56 Story Thoughts (Spoilers)

Posted on March 30

This week, FFXIV patched the last of the story we’ll see during the Heavensward development cycle. Unlike the ending of 2.0, I feel this is less of an “end” and more of a transition or beginning.

FFXIV: Heavensward’s End (No Spoilers), Level 60 Paladin & Fan Art

Posted on March 29

Last night, I finally completed leveling my Paladin to 60. Seeing that I hit 50 not all that long ago, and I actually got pretty lazy about leveling for a few weeks, that’s not too bad! I could certainly see myself using this route to level other jobs to 60 in the future.

Zelda BotW: All the Pretty Little Horses

Posted on March 27

I spent the good part of a day catching and taming various horses just to check out what kind of stats they have. Horses that appear to have “less white” don’t always promise better stats for sure, I’ve discovered.

FFXIV: Kitty Returns & Umbrite Relic Complete!

Posted on March 27

It’s been pretty quiet on the FFXIV front up until this weekend. Now, all the sudden, I have lots of things to talk about.

FFXIV: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Relic

Posted on March 24

Okay, no. That title is 100% false. I still hate the Relic. Especially the Umbrite step (even after the nerf).

Zelda BotW: Wolf Link

Posted on March 24

I’m not a big collector of amiibo. I only own two, and those came with special edition orders of Yoshi’s Wooly World (cute yarn Yoshi) and Twilight Princess (Wolf Link).

Zelda BotW: Light My Fire

Posted on March 23

Last time, I mentioned that I needed to take my incomplete Slate to the lab located in the village. There, I met Purah, who obviously remembered Link, though he didn’t remember her…

Zelda BotW: Arrival in Hateno Village

Posted on March 22

First thing’s first, I caught and tamed a new horse. That handsome blanketed Pinto up there is aptly named Pinter.

Kitty Korner: Vet Visit

Posted on March 21

So I know I haven’t been updating the new kitten situation in a while, as things have been more or less alright between Sebastian and Spriggan so far. But some things have come up today that made me decide that blogging a bit about my cats is probably going to be a thing going forward. So I’ve created a Kitty Korner tag for this.

Zelda BotW: Shalaka! Hestu and Korok Seeds

Posted on March 20

Up until now, I haven’t mentioned the Korok seed gathering that I’d been doing from time to time.

Zelda BotW: Arriving in Kakariko Village

Posted on March 17

A while back, a certain Old Man advised me to seek out Impa in Kakariko Village. So, after I took some time among horses, I headed up that way. This was the first village I came across in the game.

FFXIV: Lux Relic Weapon (Not Mine)

Posted on March 16

There’s no way that Sindri Lux weapon pictured above is mine as I’m still stuck in perpetual Umbrite purgatory. It does, however, belong to Syn’s character Zeb, and she’s worked crazy hard to finish it.

Zelda BotW: Under the Blood Moon

Posted on March 16

So while I was out and about trying to learn how to tame and ride my first horse, something very odd began to happen. Something I’d never seen in the game before.

Zelda BotW: Wild Horse Catching and Taming Guide

Posted on March 15

I was informed that there were stables on the other side of Twin Peaks, and that should be my next goal. I was all for this, because where there are stables, there are horses. And you guys know how much of a horse lover I am by now!

FFXIV: Patch 3.55b Diadem Revamp (No Salt)

Posted on March 13

The newest FFXIV patch brought us the revamped Diadem, just as promised. It also brought a truck-load of community salt… because MMO communities have to find something to be salty about.

Zelda BotW: Don’t Do It, Link!!

Posted on March 13

Last week, I left Link just as he was breaking out into the big, wide world. Today, I want to tell a story of a single incident that colored this experience for me in a good way.

FFXIV: New Bard Glamour & Gathering Gear Upgrades!

Posted on March 12

So, today, I put together a new Bard glamour. It used the Astral Silk Robe, which I’ve seen so rarely on our server’s market up until now. I just remembered to go look for it this afternoon, and there was one, so I snatched it up. Even beyond this glamour there’s a lot I can do with this robe!

Zelda BotW: Earning My Wings

Posted on March 10

Now that I’m done with all the Shrines, it’s time to meet up with the Old Man once again and claim my prize – the paraglider. This item is essential to leaving the “tutorial” zone… which doesn’t really feel that much like a tutorial zone, actually.

FFXIV: Promises to Myself for Stormblood

Posted on March 9

Ever since Heavesward released, I’ve been in a state of love/hate with FFXIV. Overall, I love it enough to stick around, even when it frustrates me. I’ve also experimented with content types in FFXIV during Heavensward and I’ve come away with a very important lesson: Just because the content exists, and I’m geared/skilled enough to clear it, doesn’t mean I should do it.

Zelda BotW: Cooking – The Real Endgame

Posted on March 9

So, last time I left Link, he was just being duped into running through three more Shrines in order to obtain the coveted paraglider from the Old Man. But instead of telling you all about my adventures to get the other runes from the Shrines, I want to talk about something even more important — cooking!

Zelda BotW: Paraglider, Please?

Posted on March 8

In the previous post, I left Link standing at the top of a tower that burst up from under the ground. After all the magical voices and visions, I was left to find my own way down.

Zelda BotW: Waking up in a New Hyrule

Posted on March 7

This is going to be the first of a series of play through blogs for Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. This world it way too open with too many experiences for me to edit myself when writing about it. So, take a blanket spoiler warning instead.

Nintendo Switch First Weekend Impressions

Posted on March 6

So I’ve spent a weekend putting my new Switch to the test and forming an opinion on the system as a whole. I’ll preface this by saying that I’ve read a number of instances of people having issues — from scratching the screen while docking to dead pixels to blue screens of death and skinning messing up the system’s finishing.

FFXIV: Playing the Alt Game

Posted on March 6

Despite focusing mostly on my new Nintendo Switch this weekend, I also spent some time burning through quests and leveling my little Lalafell alt, Hedge Mouse.

Nintendo Switch Get!

Posted on March 3

My Best Buy preorder for the Nintendo Switch worked out flawlessly. I got confirmation yesterday that it was ready for me to pick up, so I walked in today and did just that.

FFXIV: Little Ladies’ Day, Glamours and Dead Lalafells (Oh My!)

Posted on March 2

Warning, this post is going to be a screenshot dump! But, hopefully, good screenshots?

Minecraft: Villages, Horses, Caves & First Mods

Posted on March 1

I spent a lot of time chilling out in Minecraft this weekend. I still keep stumbling on things and learning new stuff every time I turn around. I made a lot of progress, though, and finally broke down to install my first ever mods.

March Gaming Goals

Posted on March 1

It’s two days before the Nintendo Switch is released. As of this moment, my preorder looks to be in good shape. Whether or not this goes through will determine what my March gaming goals look like. I’ve set aside Steam gaming this month to really focus on Zelda.
