Blue Zeus is a real Mustang living his best life out at Skydog Ranch. He’s got quite the story, one I wasn’t familiar with until last Breyefest when I first saw this model.

I absolutely adore blue roans of any kind, and this model is quite the looker. I also didn’t have any horses on the Fireheart mold, which is very bold and expressive, so I really hoped to make this my first.

The thing was, Blue Zeus was a Web Exclusive that was supposed to only be sold until sold out during the Breyerfest 2024 event. Due to that, as soon as the Breyerfest store opened, I was right there with Blue Zeus in my cart. Turns out, the demand was so great that Breyer decided to allow folks to continue to order this model and provide them with backorders that should have arrive in December-ish (if I recall right).

Sadly, there was a big snafu around shipping for models that year. Even though I got my order in not even 8 minutes after the store opened, for some reason, they shipped out the last orders first, and the first orders last. Which meant… even though I’d ordered quickly, I was on the backorder list for some reason.

Breyer did apologize for this after folks started contacting support about not receiving their complete orders along with the other Breyerfest horses. This is also why I don’t have a date set for this model here – it didn’t arrive with my other horses and I seemed to have forgotten the exact date. But it was sometime in late September or early October.

Anyhow, Breyer gifted those who had to wait on their order a free enamel pin of Blue Zeus and an apology $20 discount on the next shop purchase. Which I used for my next horse… coming soon.

As for the model, he is fantastic! I’m now a fan of the Fireheart mold and understand why I’ve heard so much about it. But really, it’s the detail on this coat that makes him what he is. Dang, what a horse!
