Beowulf was the Halloween Breyer Traditional horse for 2024. While I really like the idea and design, there was some talk on the Breyer forums that noted the wolves used here might have been taken from pre-existing artwork of another source (a kind way to say plagiarized). I don’t know if this is true or not, but the in examples and proof shown on the forums, the designs were quite similar.
Anyway, all that to say, that put me off picking the model up at full price last year. It was only when it dropped into the $20 range on Amazon that I pulled the trigger and bought it this year. All the design drama aside, it’s a really nice model. I wasn’t sure if I was going to like the red metallic colorway, but in person, he’s quite handsome!
Glad to add him to my Halloween horse shelf! Always love the glow-in-the-dark models!
