Today Royce begins his quest! I chose a standard longsword and shield combo because I felt they had the most balanced stats of the weapons provided.

Today, I decided to go the south route to the Sun Temple since it was along a river, rather than the forest. Looks like either way you went, it wasn’t a danger.

The roll was a d20 + Wisdom + Master Survivalist for the outcome. Royce has a pretty nice Wisdom stat - 4 - and his Master Survivalist adds 5 to the roll. I rolled an 11, so that put me at an even 20.

Royce had no problem getting to the Sun Temple with this roll. He also caught several fish in the stream, so was able to only use 1 food ration along the way (it’s the only one he started with, so that’s a good thing).

Not a bad start to the quest!
