I have more than enough gold, so I decided to just pay the fellow for his information. It didn't give me anything special, but looking at the other options, he does get grouchy if you try to talk him down in price since he makes a living selling info.

He gives good information, too, on where Tsavani can find her stuff - in a labyrinth guarded by a minotaur. He also suggests a hill upon which Tsavani can study the location before attempting to go inside. I guess I know where this is leading!
