Today was really all about Tsavani's Chi abilities saving her tail. So it turns out no matter what you did with the priestess, the beholder is fairly aggressive when you come to claim the gate shard. Because I didn't kill her, I got a -4 on my intimation roll, and had to go one round of battle with him. 

Thanks to Tsavani's Chi, she was able to muster enough attack to stun him for that round. When she went to get the gate shard, she was just a little short of the roll needed to not be cursed. But her Harmony Chi skill undid that curse immediately - that's been very useful throughout this game!
