Ah, now the beholder shows his true colors. 

I did well on all the attack rolls, but the lack of INT bonuses really hurt when trying to avoid the confusion. In fact, Tsavani was confused on every roll, but managed to roll high enough to keep the Beholder stunned for two rounds. The final round, she took some damage, but was able to skirt around it and jump through the gate to another world.
