Oh, it turns out we’re not inside the heart after all (even though we drove up blood vessels to get where we were?). Anyhow!
It took three rounds of shots to damage the heart. Given all the upgrades I’ve put into the ship’s guns, it would have been impossible to fail at this for any given round, and still very hard to get a poor outcome. But I won’t complain too much as the ship really doesn’t need to be taking any more damage until I get it patched up.
In the meantime, this did enough damage to the heart to blast a hole in it and cause the vessels to begin to rupture. I imagine this doesn’t feel very good for the planet-eater.
