Major plot twist today in the message that Andi’s holographic display gives us (though I should have because they didn’t even try to hide it).
Back in January, when I first started playing – but before I started posting this year’s calendar, so I have no record to show here – I began the tutorial section of the game, which basically teaches you the ropes. You start off as this biological creation in a lab named… Andi.
I kept the character sheet, but never thought to look back at it, so this slipped right past me.
The tutorial followed Andi as it made its escape from the labs, as other scientists felt it was too dangerous to remain. With the help of kind scientists who wanted to protect it, it safely arrived here and took on the form of a woman. Eventually, she fell in love and had a child – Maddax, who now travels with you.
She explains that Maddax is part human and part machine on the molecular level. She’s uncertain what kind of abilities Maddax will develop as he grows older.
She also explains that if something happens to her, she might be able to be rebuilt using a data cube there within the lab. It has all of her memories up until when she left this planet (so it would be missing the memories of Maddax growing up).
