Naturally, Zarylla is able to dodge about to reach the captain through the gun fire. The captain’s plan, however, is not what Zarylla wanted to hear.
It’s obvious they’re outnumbered, and the captain plans to stay as a diversion while you either fight off enough of them, or retreat to save Maddax. She’s determined that allowing the empire to have Andi and Maddax is a terrible thing that she intends to stop, even at the cost of herself.
She also notes that should she not make it out, Zarylla is to take up the captain seat (I have a bad feeling this is how Zarylla becomes captain). Also, she reminds Zarylla that someone on board is a traitor feeding information to the imperials – something that I have not forgotten.
