As a tech writer, my heart sings to see Zarylla read the manual – it also takes the edge off of the -4 penalty she got on the previous day, lowering it to a -2 on all rolls.
This did help out, too, as some of my rolls today were quite close. Zarylla has good Intelligence and Wisdom, and she also has some bonuses in engineering and student. So all of that added up to allow her to configure the satellite to send a message to the council about the location of the imperial city, and hack the system to authenticate the message.
