Sadly, the story of how Maddax revives his mother is left to our imagination. I actually consider that more interesting than defeating the imperials, to be honest. But the upside is I get to take an artifact with bonuses from this year to next year’s calendar hero.
And, now I know what all that gold was for! The more gold you had, the more you could power up the health bonus of the item! Seeing Zarylla has 279 credits, that means my character next year gets a boost of +7 health… which I feel is significant (unless the characters all start with really piddly stats at level 1).
I took the Sundial from last year’s game into this one, which was a nice stat boost. But this artifact is even better than last year’s with the huge health bonus.
