I can already see this game is going to play differently than the calendars from years before. It seems like we are going to play each of the hero characters for a week, then we will finally be able to choose one of them, or create one of our own. I’m interested in how this is going to work!

I also noticed that aside from pickpocketing, there’s also sometimes hidden treasure. And there will be a party system, which I don’t fully understand just yet, but I did glance at the rules.

I discovered that you download the character sheets and other files from their itch page this year. There’s also a phone app to keep track of your character sheet instead. I’m going to try that out, but I see where it’s limited on features if you don’t pay for some of them (not sure what is what with this yet, as I’ve only just learned about the app).

On to the game!

First, we’ve got an overview of the world map…

And an introduction to the newest recruit to the Burrow – Tak Redwind.

The Burrow is described as a military outpost and training grounds.

Tak arrives early, so he spends some time exploring the area. At the waterfall, he’s able to race the local kids and win an amber (the currency of Wrenwood). He then goes on to assist in harvesting wood with the community, earning 1 virtue point.

He attempts to help out cooking meals, but turns out to be rubbish at it. No worries, though, the better cooks step in and take over for him.

There’s also a supply post, but at 5 amber per item, there’s no way Tak could afford anything there yet.

Update: Scopique pointed out that Tak actually starts with 4 amber on his character sheet - I overlooked that because I was trying out the app and scrambling to print out character sheets for a different character. Thanks so much, I've adjusted!
