So in comes the newest “hero,” Merrik.
He’s a bit of a scoundrel, looking to prove himself and join the Thieves’ Guild. To do that, he plans to join the Leaf Riding tournament and use this as a cover to break into the throne room and steal a leaf from the Tree of Seasons. If he can do this and present it to the guild, he’s in.
Merrik is quick to spot an excellent way into the castle. However, he’s so focused on the heist that he can’t really focus well enough on getting warmed up for the competition. But he feels ready for it as he’s pretty familiar with leaf riding.
For being such a great thief, he sure isn’t all that astounding at picking locks (I got a low roll). He noticed some of the contestants’ valuables nearby, and swiped 4 amber and a Warding Ointment.
