Merrik is having a bit of a rocky start to the Leaf Riding competition.
He does manage to endure the initial winds just fine, but when an unexpected gust kicks up, he loses control of his leaf and slams into a tree. Ouch.
As battle breaks out in mid-air, he observes a pair of rats who are working together to take out opponents. Merrik is able to avoid the attack of the white rat, but not the brown rat – he gets a boot to the head.
All in all, he takes 2 points of damage in this first stretch of the race.
