Today Cora gets to choose a bug friend to join her party.
I chose the lightning bug because of DEX bonuses. However, this whole party system is new and different from years before. It used to be, if you had a henchman, you were only limited to what you could afford. Also, they didn’t have HP to worry about, they could not die and be removed, and their skills were always active, the whole page – every page, as long as they were accompanying the hero.
The whole card game element seems like it could cumbersome – especially if you have a large party to go through each member, one by one, drawing cards to see if you get any perks from them on every page. Especially since – like in the case of this bug – you not only have to match or be higher than the number, but also the suit.
That seems like it will be far and in between that luck would allow you to draw a card to ever match both. I could be wrong, but that’s what I feel in the case of probability – it doesn’t seem like party members will be that useful if this is the case. Certainly not worth spending amber to upkeep. I’ll try it out, but this feels like a significant nerf to followers this year.
I don’t have a deck of cards on hand (not one that I want to open), so I’ll just be using the deck shuffler on random.org.
