Cora chose the amethyst choker because the +Attack - having a better chance at landing a hit is a big deal. The Dex bonus is a nice addition, too, and nothing to turn down.
She also received 3 magical campfires. These are new this year.
What I feel I’m reading from this is that you can use a campfire anytime to take a rest. If so, this is fantastic! In previous years, you could only rest when the story allowed you to rest. I love the idea of choosing when to rest, when I need a rest, before something awful happens. And it hopefully saves from having specific calendar pages just for a rest.
