At the top of the island, Cora meets some lovely, but territorial, hummingbirds who are protecting their oasis.
They warn her away, telling her not to desecrate the oasis. While she could have given them a gift for a bonus, I chanced doing a straight persuasion roll to reason with them. I did have to use Cora’s Regal Influence because my first roll was low, but the second time, she was able to reach the leader of the hummingbirds.
When asking about the dangers of the island, however, my roll was too low, and all Cora got from them was to stay around the oasis for safety. There is apparently danger beyond the pools.
