The mayor of the town, Mayor Dulltooth, is trying to calm down the upset citizens.
Cora tries to help the crowd calm down, and is able to quell the frustration for a moment before protests break out again. She then works to defend the mayor and takes 2 HP worth of damage from the crowd.
Cora then approached the mayor to ask about his key-shaped scepter (ah, so that’s where the key hole on the riddle rock comes into play… either I missed this earlier, or this was not mentioned at all) and helping investigate the well. Her persuasion (plus bonuses) work strongly in her favor and the mayor agrees to allow her to explore the well. He notes that they will talk about his scepter later, and gives her 8 amber to purchase supplies.
But… didn’t we just buy supplies a few pages back? Ah, well.
