Cora sets out to find the guardian in the Dark Woods.
She decides to do something a little different and chooses to pay for passage on a cargo boat that is travelling down the river. This protects her from any unsavory sorts and saves her time - she only has to use 4 meal rations.
Along the way, she runs across a family of fireflies who are struggling with the freezing weather. She convinces them to take shelter from the weather at her camp. In return, they lead her to an old campsite where she discovers 3 amber – more than enough to make up for the cost of the boat ride!
