Things just don’t get any easier for Cora.
After Master Laurel oversees her mother’s funeral, holding up the new Seed of Life as hope for the people, he pins Cora with having to make an impromptu speech. Not the best timing, and my roll was even so low on this one that Cora only managed to do a decent job of speaking to the crowd.
Despite this, dispirited cries of, “The tree is dead! The queen is dead!” start to rile up the crowd. It’s easy to see how the people would feel that way at this point. Cora works to calm the crowd and is just barely able to do so, allowing the funeral to carry on without more incident.
