Punirunes – Day 4 – Mistakes Were Made

I made a serious mistake last night in the care of my Punirunes.
So, I was very excited because my Rune indicated it was going to evolve. This time I knew what the prompt meant and managed to take a picture of it.

This provided me with some sort of evolution wheel, upon which, most appeared to be blocked out for me. I didn’t try to choose willy-nilly, but picked the one that was the most lit up. I’m not sure how this will work in the future now that I’ve seen my first evolution, but I’ll find out about that sooner rather than later.

Once again, I chose a blue color seed (I found out the “orbs” are actually seeds), and that merged with my choice from the wheel.

To become the adult form of… well… ice cream head?

Yeah, it’s a little bizarre. Especially since one of the food choices is ice cream. What would it mean for an ice cream head Rune to eat an ice cream? Anyhow… not pondering that too much.
So, I decided to explore a bit more to see what might have unlocked now that I had an adult.
Squishy Button Controls Review
Time for a mini-review of Punirunes controls!
I did play around in the arcade a bit, though due to the nature of the squishy button controls, I’m only decent at one game there – the bubble catching game. Any game that requires a timed push of the squishy button is a failure to me – don’t even start me on how they think we should be able to play a rhythm game.
The squishy button is not effective in picking up taps and pushes. That’s my one major complaint about the pet – especially when most of the games require tapping or pushing. If you think the Tamagotchi Pix controls are annoying, Punirunes is not for you.
The Big Oops
Anyhow, back to the big mistake I made last night.
As I was exploring locations, I noticed there was a new doorway that looked like it was leading to a nice garden. When I sent my Rune there, they began to do what looked like some sort of sleep or meditation.
I didn’t get any pictures of this because I didn’t know how dire my choices were about to be.
There wasn’t anything on the screen that really indicated what this place meant. I only got a Yes/No prompt, and because my Rune seemed peaceful, I selected Yes. Then I got a second Yes/No prompt (with no other indication what I was agreeing to), and selected Yes again.
I was gifted a big tasty lollipop (which doesn’t appear to be actual food, but just a collectable?) – and was like “OH! I just got a treat!” Then, much to my dismay, I sent my newly adult Rune away (Into the garden? It wasn’t clear…)

This didn’t actually register until I got the screen that showed a brand new baby Rune appearing out of nowhere.

NOOOO! I’d hardly had my ice cream head for 15 minuets before I’d sent it away! I honestly had NO idea that’s what the garden location would do!
I wasn’t too sad, though, since I wasn’t super connected to ice cream head. So, I chalked it up to a lesson learned, and went to buy a new fluffy background for the new baby.

This time, I’m being much more diligent in keeping my Rune full on food. I’ll also be choosing different colors across their evolutions just to explore more.
Changing the time to be four hours back did the trick in that I was awake before they were. This hopefully means no more puddling in the morning before I wake up!
So, lots of things discovered. Mistakes were made. But on to the new Rune!
