FFXIV: April Goals in Review

I know it’s not quite the end of April yet, but it’s pretty close. I doubt I’ll be finishing up any other goals before the month is over, so I wanted to take a look back in review. As I expected, I somewhat took a break from FFXIV this month. Some weeks, I hardly logged in except to help Vix and Xaa with a dungeon run or just to do the Crystal Tower trio. Sometimes I did nothing but race chocobos.

And really, that’s been a good thing for me. I’ve been able to explore my Steam library and even piddle around in FFXI for a little bit. Taking a break will most likely make FFXIV all the more fun when I decide to get back to Eorzea again. But despite that, I did manage to accomplish a few of my goals this month.

End Game Stuff

  • Finish Patch 3.2 story on Zuri✓
  • Level Monk to ???? ✓

Done and done. I ended up getting Monk to level 53, which is fine. I didn’t really have a goal set for it, and only used it during Crystal Tower raids this month. So, that’s not bad for hardly trying to level.

Crafting/Gathering

  • Level Alchemist to 60 (Currently 54)
  • Level Culinarian to 60 ✓
  • Level Blacksmith to 53 (So I can finally consolidate crafting armor)
  • Unlock Master II book for:
    • Alchemist (once at 60)
  • Earn Master III books for (not priority):
    • Alchemist
    • Culinarian

I only really accomplished getting Culinarian to 60 this month. But that soaked up a lot of my leves, so it made it harder to push for Alchemist in the end. I did get Alchemist to 56 as well, so I didn’t do too badly there. Alchemist will likely be my goal for next month. Didn’t push too hard to earn books, but I did work on crafting a few Blue Scrips.

Leveling Stuff

  • Level all remaining jobs to 25 (not priority)
    • Paladin
    • Warrior
    • Ninja
  • Level Machinist to 50
  • Level Scholar to 50 ✓

Most of my time was dedicated to getting Scholar to 50 when I ran leveling roulettes this month. I got some of her Poetics gear, though I don’t know if I’ll use her for Crystal Tower runs or not. I am having fun playing Scholar as a healer, though.

My poor Machinist is still hovering at level 47. I just don’t have the motivation to get it to 50. And I didn’t touch leveling any of my other classes, though I really should. Since I don’t think I’ll have any other leveling goals next month, I’m going to try to buckle down and concentrate on one or the other.

I have a feeling my goal list will be much less complex next month! 🙂
