FFXIV: Give Us Boats Please!

One of the slides during the FFXIV fanfest keynote stated “Expansive New Lifestyle Content” is coming with the Dawntrail expansion. Of course, Yoshi-P did not explore this any deeper. Not yet, at least.
So, focusing on the idea of EXPANSIVE, and reflecting back on the theme and the setting of Dawntrail, the one thing I'd love to see in the Lifestyle content is...
Player owned boats.
Please, Yoshi-p. Let me sail. Let me fish. Let me just roam the oceans around the New World!
Ships are features of many newer sandbox games. Though I haven’t played Archeage in forever, I loved my little boat back then.
In a similar way, I love sailing the wide oceans in my Black Desert Online ship as well!
It's a feature even oldskool sandbox MMOs (thinking UO) have had and I'd love to see it here. Heck, didn't GW2 get boats in the last expansion?
I’m not sure if the tech is there in FFXIV to do boats. But I do know that Yoshi-P was a UO player, so he knows the value of player boats.
Just think of all the things you could do with one, aside from sailing! House boat? Boat parties?
It’s probably a pipe dream, but if we do get boats in the future, I can point back to this post and say with a grin, “I called it!”
