On the Final Day of Giftmas…

Merry Christmas – here’s the final day of Giftmas for this year! I left the biggest box for last, and there’s a bit to talk about with this one.
First, my sister informed me that there had been a smaller present taped to a larger one. But that I’d already opened the smaller one. I hadn’t seen this (they must have come loose in the mail), but now I can make a good guess at what she meant as this box has a distinct tape-marking on the wrapping.

Battlefield Angel HP Breyer horse!
So, do you remember the gift on the fifth day? The one that had a note and a gag gift of a Barbie unicorn (which I wrote about most solemnly and do keep on the shelf with the rest of my Breyers because it was a great gag set-up!).
Well, that was the gift that had been taped to this. I guess my sister’s intention was for me to open the gag and then open the real Breyer. But that’s okay, it was just a longer-running gag than what she expected!
Anyhow… Battlefield Angel!
He’s a big, handsome boy! I saw him perform at Breyerfest online this year, so I was aware of this model, which released last year.
When I picked up Leif as the fall decorator, I realized they both were on the Friesian Sporthorse mold, which is fairly new. There’re not many horses on this mold yet, and no other that are within my price range, so I put Angel on my wishlist for future conga building.
I’m so happy to have him in my collection - he’s stunning as a pinto Friesian. He’s also the first Breyer horse I’ve ever received as a gift. Here he is next to Leif on my Breyer shelf!
