Farewell to Blaugust 2025!

And so, another Blaugust has come and gone, and another 31 posts have been written. This post counts as my 31st post for the month, the typical summary that I always try to do at the end of the challenge.
I also try to make it as simple as I can for those who are running the events to see all of my posts and get a post count. This can be found on my August 2025 blog post archive page!
Overall, I’m quite glad that I joined again this year. It was a busy time for me, and a bit of a challenge to keep up with, but some of the posts that came out of this month – while not the best I’ve ever written – have helped me work through things that have been on my mind.
Things like:
- rolling another Bun character in FFXIV
- going back to exploring OSRS
- writing out some of my thoughts about games I’ve been meaning to blog about
Those sorts of things.
I was actually surprised how much FFXIV news popped up this month, as well as new releases for other games I’m playing. This distracted me from my original goal to blog about a number of Steam games I’ve played that I still haven’t blogged about. I touched on this in my halfway post, and I only managed to write about 3 of the 6 titles on the list. I guess half of them isn’t bad.
What this means is I still have an overflow of gaming blogging that I didn’t put a pin in during Blaugust, but that I still want to write about. I’ve already jotted down all of those topics in my Traveler’s Notebook for future posts. Even so, there’s a list of things that have just popped up the past few days that I also want to write about.
So, while I hope to take a bit of a break now that Blaugust is winding down, I’m far from done with tackling the content I want to make for this blog this year. There’s no way I’ll be writing every day as I have this past month, but I hope that now I’ve given myself a bit of a kick to get back into the blogging habit, I’ll be able to focus on writing for this site a bit more than I have earlier this year.
To everyone who participated in Blaugust: You are a winner!
It doesn’t matter how many posts you wrote or how consistent you were. The fact that you undertook the challenge and wrote what you could is all that’s important.
We had a really strong turnout this year, which is always exciting! I hope that there’s something you can take away from the experience, and that we’ll see you again next year for Blaugust 2026!
I’d like to send my sincere thanks to the Blaugust Mentor group who, without their work and dedication, this event could not be possible. I wish I’d had the wiggle room, time, and energy to do more for the event than simply post to my blog (my apologies), but you all knocked it out of the park! Thanks for all you do!
