Second Life: Haunted Beach House

Posted on October 27, 2025 by Aywren

Earlier this year, I decided to switch things up and moved from a cabin home to a stilt house in a beach neighborhood in Second Life. Despite having lived here since February, I still don’t have the inside fully decorated and figured out. However, I knew that with Halloween coming around, I would need to spend some time adapting my collection of decorations to this new location.

Compared to my cabin home (see these decorations here), which was practically built for spooky season, this was going to be a bit of a challenge. But as there is a trick-or-treat event every year in Bellisseria, I managed to put some things together earlier this month, just in time.

The toughest part is that the stilt houses over water have no yard, which reduces how much you can decorate outside. More or less. I do have a few sand bars in front of my house to give me more real estate, and I put those to proper use.

I have some ghostly projectors, which I love, that show upon the second story of the house. As well as a ghostly visitor peeking through the top windows.

I also put my boardwalk to use, making a lighted path up to the door. There, the trick-or-treat basket sits, along with a guestbook people can sign. And I do get a few signatures every year!

To top it off, I’ve got my EEP set for the creepiest sky and water environments that I own. I think it does a good job casting the proper light on the scene!

Not too bad a job for a beach house that’s generally considered to be in a bright and sunny location! What do you think?
