OSRS: Excitedly Awaiting the Sailing Skill
Posted on November 5, 2025 by Aywren
I’ve been waiting for the sailing skill to arrive in OSRS since I first heard about it last year. In fact, part of what nudged me to try out OSRS was knowing that sailing was coming. Now, finally, on November 19th, I’ll be able to see what the skill is like.
There are a few activities in MMOs that have aways been a big draw to me. Fishing, animal husbandry (especially horses), farming, building… and sailing. I adore a good sailing game within my game. And it seems from both the newest OSRS blog post talking about the sailing skill and the video, the devs at OSRS have put a lot of time and thought into this new system, finding a way to bring something as vast as sailing into the existing game.
What I was most worried about, and relieved to hear was this:

I was truly concerned that there would be all sorts of skills and quests I’d need to have completed before I could unlock the sailing skill. And while, there is some of that on down the line…

…It’s nothing that is going to keep me from at least getting a taste at the early levels, as I hoped!
While this is still a few weeks away, I’ve been slowly chipping away at my prior goal, which was to earn the full set of Graceful outfit from running the agility rooftop course in Canifis. It’s pretty much where I left off the last time I wrote about skilling in OSRS.

I do have three pieces of the outfit already, and still need 115 marks of grace to purchase the remaining. I’ve been earning at least 10 marks a night – to pace myself – which should net me the rest of the outfit before the sailing patch drops.
