My Steam Replay 2025
Posted on December 22, 2025 by Aywren
So how about this year’s Steam Replay? I’m a little late in blogging about it because I’m still out of town on holiday vacation. But similar to 2024 and 2023, I wanted to at least touch on the outcome of my gaming habits this year.
Steam remains the largest of my gaming platforms, outside of MMOs, which I typically use the game launcher rather than a third party to play through. Come this time each year, I always feel like I haven’t played enough games in my backlog, but the numbers resoundingly state something different.

This year, I’ve played 53 games. That’s an improvement over last year by a small bit. I also want to note that I stayed away from playing demos as much as I could because I knew that this inflates this number, and I really don’t like that. I still wish demos didn’t count towards games played in these stats.

While achievements are not a priority for me generally, I’m always amused to see just how many I end up netting each year. In the past, much of this was due to playing Idle Champions. This year, I’ve fairly much fallen off that wagon, but was still surprised to discover that I’ve earned more achievements this year than last year. Not to mention a few rare ones. Go figure!

This puts me looking like this when compared to the typical Steam gamers. The median of games played has risen somewhat from the past few years, but I always find it surprising that the average gamers play nowhere near as many games as I do.
Do keep in mind, however, some of these games I play are short try-it-outs that I got as part of bundles and that sort of thing. So, while it seems like this is saying I’ve played a TON of games for a TON of time, that’s not the true picture. Many of these games I’ve only put an hour or two into just to see if I felt they were worth more time.
The games I played the most?

Enshrouded, The Planet Crafter, and Chonkers.
Now, Chonkers I don’t really count because it’s an idle game that incentivizes leaving the game running (untouched) for an hour at a time each day. I’d decided that I wanted to try and collect all of the normal cats this past year, and spent many days idling the game to do just that. This is why this game seems like one I’ve played for an extended amount of time, even though I haven’t.
In fact, No Man’s Sky comes in 4th on this list, and I’d say that this is the game I’ve put much more time and effort into than Chonkers. That would be the one thing I’d alter on this list if I could.

Finally, the types of games I tend to play the most in a spider graph form. Again, Chonkers skews my numbers towards “Cats” as it’s a cat game. It’s also what influenced the “Idler” and “Collectathon”. It’s weird how a single idle game can really mess with the numbers and game representation on this report.
It is what it is, I suppose. And, really, that’s all there is to my Steam Replay this year.
Next year… I hope for even better stats as I finally start whittling down my backlog. I’ve done a pretty good job in tackling all the random games, but that’s a topic for my end of year goals post. So, not today!
