Blogiversary: 12 Years of Blogging

Twelve years ago on this day, I launched this blog! This is the yearly post in which I reminisce a little about this long-term writing project I started all those years ago, not knowing how far into the future it would stretch. In a time when blogging isn’t as popular as it used to be, to have a blog last as long as this has is a pretty exciting milestone!
First of all, my thanks goes out to everyone who stops and gives a read, leaves a comment, signs the guestbook, or interacts with my posts on the few social media I write to. While I probably would still be writing even without the engagement, I really, really appreciate the company! So, thank you for being here!
Last year, I talked about a few goals I had in mind for this blog, now that I have it fully in retro HTML format. I want to revisit them for a short moment.
I did manage to finish one of those goals, which was to update the Model Horse page to list the most current models I own. I don’t foresee many, if any, models being added this year as I just don’t have the exposable income to spend. I don’t even plan on attending Breyerfest this year, in fact. So, for now, the page is where it needs to be for what it is.
Another project I listed last year that I didn’t finish is the one I’m working on this year – coding the pages for the 2022 Quest Calendar. I’m moving all of that content off of my social blogs (Tumblr and Pillowfort) to be archived here on this site. So far, I’ve finished coding January to May completely!
While I have the time to do it, I’ve been focusing down this project, which is hidden away in the Microblog section, and doesn’t really have much to do with the main blog. But that’s okay. It’s something I want to organize, so I do.
While I’m not blogging as consistently as I have in the long past, I have made an effort to try to keep the posts flowing the past few months. I took on a number of gaming blog posts back in November, which I was particularly happy with. While that didn’t cover all of the content I’ve wanted to write about – not to mention I have a number of NEW games on the list I want to tackle – it did catch me up to a point where I feel like the to-do list for this blog is manageable.
All that to say, I haven’t run out of things to write about even 12 years down the line. The opposite, in fact. I have more to write about than ever, and I do hope to knock out some of those posts this year while I’m making a full-on effort of tackling down my Steam backlog in the meantime.
I also have posts to write for the Steam Deck and my experience with the Quest 3S on the list. This is really going to be a year of me focusing hard on the games and library I already own rather than continuing to add to said library like I have the past several years.
I’m hoping to write a success story come this time next year for the 13th blogiversary. Let that be a lucky year for this site! Until then, thanks for reading! You are appreciated!
