Review: Flufftopia – An Idle Clicker Game That’s NOT What it Seems!
Posted on February 12, 2026 by Aywren
Disclaimer: The developer provided a free Steam key of this game for me to review. These are my honest thoughts!
I love a good indie idle clicker game! Heck, I spent weeks playing the Cookie Clicker browser version (until it got reset for some sad reason). So, when Daniel dropped me a key to their game Flufftopia: Fluffmazing Edition, I was stoked to try it out. What I didn’t realize is while the game has all the elements of a clicker game, it’s also something cleverly different in the end.
No, I’m not going to spoil it, so don’t worry. If you’re interested in discovering this adorable game’s darker secrets, then you’re going to have to play it for yourself.
I also tried this out on the Steam Deck. While it’s Steam Deck compatible, and very much playable on the Deck, I will note that some of the menu text on individual buildings is quite small, and the buttons you need to press to assign workers are quite tiny. It’s do-able, however!
Idle Clicker Loop
For those who don’t know what an “idle clicker” is, it’s where you start out by manually clicking some element within the game to earn some kind of resource. Here, you start by clicking the cute piggy bank multiple times to earn Fluffcoins.

You then use the Fluffcoins to purchase buildings. Once you’ve unlocked a building, you assign workers (which you earn over time) to it. The workers eventually begin to automate the system and earn far more coins than you can manually make by clicking. That’s when the idle elements of the game kick in.
Once you hit a certain threshold of workers per building, upgrades for that building are available at the shop. Purchasing an upgrade multiplies the amount of currency you earn per second.
The goal of the game is to build up the adorable little town into the ultimate Flufftopia – a haven for the adorable Fluffs. This is all good fun with a chill, adorable vibe… until it isn’t.
The game makes it clear from early on that this town is not what it seems. The host of the game, Happy, spends much of the game reiterating wonderful facts about life as a Fluff. Almost to the point that it’s just impossibly cute and far, far too perfect. I mean, Fluffs ALWAYS get to sleep in before work!

This makes for a great tonal shift later when…
Well.
Slightly Spoiler Section
You’ve been warned!
I’m not going to post any full spoilers here, but I want to take a moment to celebrate how very clever this game’s story is set up. There are many endings to it, many twists to discover, and it was not at all what I expected from the start – in a good way!
I spent about 3 and a half hours rolling through it – multiple times - to see what I could figure out on my own. I found a good deal, but couldn’t catch everything. Thankfully, sharp gamers have put together all the spoilers you need in one thread on the community’s Steam forum.
But please, do yourself a favor, and play it blind if this game interests you!
Thanks so much to Daniel for introducing me to your game. Major props to you for the concept and execution! I had a lot of fun with this one!
