Blaugust 2026 – The Halfway Point
Posted on August 15, 2026 by Aywren
I know that August has 31 days and that day 15 is not technically halfway, but I still tend to view it that way, anyhow. So here we are, halfway through another Blaugust – how’s it going for you?
Things rarely turn out how we expect them to when rising to a challenge, such as consistently writing every day. Have you written posts that you hadn’t planned? Have topics popped up that you didn’t expect?
That’s often a great feeling for me, I know. That’s when you’re in the middle of the process that’s taking on a life of its own.
Of course, I say this right after I posted about how difficult it’s been for me to blog about gaming lately. And, as a contradiction, I have several gaming-related posts about single-player games lined up for this week. Truth is, I wrote many of these posts before Blaugust began because I knew I’d need a buffer come the middle of the month. And I do.
Not just because I’m trying to stay on track with Blaugust and I find blogging more difficult right now. But also, because I’m going through some rather big things IRL, which I’ve not mentioned to many people outside of my common circle.
I’ll know more about the situation come the middle of this upcoming week, and I plan on writing about it at that point. Things have been fairly up in the air for me since I was laid off from my job, so I’m hoping next week will bring a small glimmer of hope on that front, even if it’s not perfect and not fully sustainable in the form it’s presented at the moment.
Like the surprise posts when blogging consistently, life rarely takes a straight and narrow path, does it? I’m doing the best to navigate this while keeping my head up as much as possible.
But now, all this rambling to say, we have reached the halfway marker of Blaugust. If there’s a specific goal you’re working towards for this event – while that’s never absolutely needed – you still have plenty of time to get some posts drafted and published!
I’ve got most of my topics for the rest of the month mapped out, with a few open dates falling closer to the end of the month. There’s still plenty of room to shuffle things and adjust if needed, though. I rarely write myself into a corner when it comes to challenges like this.
I do know that I’m in much need of a rest, though. Not just from Blaugust, which I entered without the proper rest to begin with, but from all the uncertainty I’ve been pushing through this year. Things are fine in a round about way, but it’s hard to be truly creative when you have bigger things on your mind – you know how that goes.
Whatever your goals and situation, I wish you the best for this second half of Blaugust. I’ll see you at the end, because I know you can make it. And so can I!
