The last day of the year is here, and it’s time to look back at the goals I made at the first of this year and see how I’ve done. While some of these goals were gaming oriented, this year, I also made some non-gaming goals I wanted to tackle.

While I did not write up a Giftmas series this year since I was on the road and received my gifts in person, I wanted to share some of the awesome things friends and family gifted me. I won’t be able to get into each and every little item – though I appreciate them all – but I’ve consolidated them into groups for easier blogging.

As this year winds down, I’ve had plenty of thoughts about what direction I hope to take this site in 2025. Some are things I want to start doing, but just as much as there are things I want to eliminate from my creative plate. While this post was supposed to be a review, I guess it’ll be more of a wishlist for 2025, instead. That good with you?

Once more, we come to the time of year when I get mildly disappointed that I didn’t spend more time with my console games. This is especially true this year since I’ve made an effort to focus on collecting physical Switch games in light of the Switch predecessor being on the way.

This year’s Steam Replay just dropped and the results for my gaming year are pretty much what I expected them to be. This was a year where I somewhat dropped my goals and allowed myself to just enjoy the games I wanted to play, when I wanted to play.
AFK Journey – A Look at Season 2: Waves of Intrigue

While I don’t often try gacha games, nor do I stick around long for the ones I do try, AFK Journey has been an exception. I’ve continued to play this since release, logging in every night to do my dailies and power up my team, and still haven’t spent a single dime in the game. Nor have I felt the need to.
I’m So Glad I Left WordPress When I Did

Though this is the first time I’ve written about the whole fiasco happening with WordPress, I’ve been very tempted to post about it several times as I’ve watched this trainwreck unfold month after month. As much as I’ve talked about my feelings on what WordPress.com did to make me leave years ago, that all appears to have been a glimmer in the eye of Matt Mullenweg. What’s going on now is far larger.
