FFXIV: Finishing Dawntrail Shared FATEs

Posted on August 28, 2025 by Aywren

Over a year ago, I set out to achieve some goals in Dawntrail, which included finishing all of the Shared FATEs in all of the current expansion zones. Until you’ve completed the entire shared FATE farm, you’re unable to use the bi-colored gemstones towards purchasing the vouchers needed for this expansion’s mount, which is what I truly want to achieve.

I wasn’t very impressed with the mount from Endwalker, so I was not very motivated to get this done last expansion. In fact, I’ve only completed two zones of FATES in Endwalker as of writing this post. I do plan on going back and completing them, but mostly because I will use this to earn the gemstones towards the mount voucher for this expansion.

This particular mount, called the Ty'aitya, reminds me of a colorful sugar glider. Quite cute! So, of course I’d have to work towards it!

However, given my consistency in buckling down and doing these FATEs, I figure it’ll probably take me a few years to finally achieve it. I burn out on FATEs pretty quickly, so I tend to clear them 10 each gaming session. Sometimes I clear more, but only if there are other players out in the zone making the FATE farming go more quickly.

Thankfully, in my quest to finish up Dawntrail FATEs, this happened a fairly good chunk of the time. While I’ve had this goal in mind since last July, it wasn’t until folks started to grind demiatmas for the relic last patch that I actually put the time into it. Not only was I earning demiatmas, but I was also finishing up zones in the meantime.

I used the momentum of other players being in the zones to clean up my logs for the highest level areas first, figuring those would take the longest should I need to do them solo. However, playing on a decently geared Red Mage as I do, FATEs aren’t much of a challenge overall, especially with a fully-leveled chocobo companion watching over me.

Anyhow, this part of the farm is complete. Now all gemstones I earn can go towards the prize! I did splurge a little bit, however, and pick up the neon parasol from Solution Nine just as a reward for getting it done. I really love the way it looks, so I knew it was one of the few items I was going to purchase!
