FFXIV: Mog Tome Rewards and Ocean Fisher Get

This past week, I’ve spent a lot of time collecting tomes for the current Moogle Treasure Trove event, specifically by Ocean Fishing. This has become my favorite way of earning tomes since it was introduced a few events back, particularly because there’s a lot of achievements around Ocean Fishing that I’d like to earn.
Of course, there’s the World-Class Troller title that’s far, far in the future. But I have a lot of smaller achievements, such as catching all the fish in a zone, both in and out of a spectral current, that I need. So, that’s been my focus the past few days, and it’s much more entertaining than fishing straight for tomes!
I was actually surprised how many points I could earn when my goals were mostly about snagging the missing fish in my log. In fact, in one of my runs yesterday, I broke the 16K requirement for the “Ocean Fisher” title achievement, which is something I’ve been really near reaching, but never have.
I’ve been using the Ocean Fishing tracker on Lulu’s Tools to guide me through this. I like that it tells you exactly which fish are going to be up on a route, and what you need to do to catch them. This has netted me a number of achievements this week, and rare catches such as the Seafaring Toad!
While I needed well over 200 tomes for this MogTome event, I’ve bought most of what I wanted already. Any other fishing I’ll be doing is just for the achievements, and because I’ve been motivated to fill in the blanks in my Ocean Fishing log.
So what all have I gotten this event?
Gwiber of Light mount. I don’t do extremes, so I wait for the mounts to come around in Mogtome events.
Tinker’s Bell minion. While I did finish the world fate this came from, I never did it enough times to get the minion.
Red Mage barding. This was a big one! I’ve wanted this barding for a long time, but the fact it only drops in Eureka lockboxes and it’s untradeable made it more work than I wanted to do. Now I have it!
Parasol. I don’t know why I never got this from the Ishgard Restoration. But why pay Skybuilders’ scrips when you can just fish for it?
I’ve also picked up an assortment of Triple Triad cards and a music scroll I still needed from the Eden raids. A pretty good haul this event!
