Steam Gaming: Clanfolk – Scottish Highlands Colony Builder

Posted on November 24

Clanfolk. It’s like Rimworld but based in the Scottish Highlands. At least, that’s what I tell people when I try to explain this game to them. Though, if you’ve never played Rimworld, that’s not much help, I know.

FFXIV: We’re Going to Fan Fest 2026!

Posted on November 21

When FFXIV announced that the 2026 Fan Festival was being held in Anaheim, CA this time around – instead of Vegas – my interest in going grew exponentially. This is due to the fact that Syn has family in that area that we both knew would not mind giving us a place to stay for the time that we’d spend out there.

OSRS: Getting Started with Sailing as a Newer Player

Posted on November 20

Yesterday, Old School RuneScape launched its first ever new skill – sailing! This was something I’ve been waiting for since I first heard about it last year, and was one of the deciding factors on what drew me to play in the first place.

FFXIV: Luck Smiled Upon Me

Posted on November 19

Since I’ve changed Amon to be my Main in FFXIV, I’ve been fully focused on reclaiming the important things I used to have on the alt character – especially earning the Caduceus minion. I originally got the drop on my alt character back on January 1, 2022 after 25 Trust runs of the dungeon (which I know is actually somewhat good RNG for the time). Though the drop rate of the minion was said to have increased, I started to wonder after the dungeon run count this time around saw no drop after 25 runs.

Guild Wars Reforged – A Dream Come True!

Posted on November 18

Guild Wars 1 was one of those pivotal games that brought me back to MMOs after I’d almost given up on them for good. I am absolutely over the moon in hearing that GW is getting a complete remaster overhaul as Guild Wars Reforged on December 3!

FFXIV: New Main Progress

Posted on November 17

This weekend, after switching my Main character to be Amon in FFXIV, I had a number of in-game projects on my plate. My full focus was on rearranging everything I could on my Main to match what my Amon alt once had. Some of this has turned out to be faster and easier than I expected. Other parts of this, not so much.

FFXIV: Main Change – The Allagans Finally Win

Posted on November 14

So, once more, last night, I’ve changed the identity of my Main Character slot in FFXIV. Yes, I know that I did so back in April. And yes, I realize that what I’m doing now is flying in the face of what I wrote back when I talked about this character change then.

Steam Hardware – An Interesting Announcement!

Posted on November 13

Yesterday, Valve dropped a huge announcement for the upcoming release of the Steam Hardware ecosystem. This began with Steam Deck, and is expanding to include Steam Controller, Steam Machine (which some folks are calling the GabeCube), and Steam Frame.

Paralives – A Sims Replacement (?)

Posted on November 12

I have been a Sims fan since the original Sims came to PC back in 2000. Since then, I’ve owned almost every expansion pack across Sims 1, Sims 2, Sims 3, and Sims 4. While I’m not a rabid Sims fan, I am a big Sims enjoyer. However, the recent situation with the EA buyout is changing that for me.

Backlog Blogging: Aquarist

Posted on November 11

Aquarist is a sandbox simulation game in which you create your own business through building fish aquariums and completing aquarium-related jobs. I know that I just posted about Tiny Aquarium last week, but this game differs quite a bit in that it’s not a collecting game, but truly has more focus on the more technical aspects of keeping an aquarium.

OSRS: Graceful Outfit Obtained!

Posted on November 10

Over the weekend, I finally finished one of my long-term goals in Old School RuneScape – obtaining the Graceful Outfit! Not only does this outfit look really cool (compared to other gear I have at my noob level), but it also provides a bonus of 30% increased natural run energy restoration – which is a pretty big deal in a game where your stamina drains and takes a loooong time to regenerate.

Steam Gaming: Gas Station Simulator

Posted on November 7

Gas Station Simulator is a game that I had for a while on my wishlist before I finally picked it up earlier this year. I heard quite a bit of good things about it, and I knew it was only a matter of time before I tried it out.

Steam Gaming: Tiny Aquarium

Posted on November 6

I’m a fan of idle collecting games in general, so when I saw Tiny Aquarium - an aquarium game with a fishing mechanic - launch earlier this year, it was pretty much an instant buy. Especially since this game is very affordable, and also includes some social elements that make it stand out from other games similar to it.

OSRS: Excitedly Awaiting the Sailing Skill

Posted on November 5

I’ve been waiting for the sailing skill to arrive in OSRS since I first heard about it last year. In fact, part of what nudged me to try out OSRS was knowing that sailing was coming. Now, finally, on November 19th, I’ll be able to see what the skill is like.

Backlog Blogging: Echoes of the Plum Grove

Posted on November 4

Echoes of the Plum Grove bills itself as a cozy farming simulator, along the lines of Story of Seasons. But it has a few twists, one of which makes it a little more hardcore than most farming sims out there. I’ll talk about that in a bit.

Backlog Blogging: The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria

Posted on November 3

Return to Moria is a sandbox survival crafting game set in the Lord of the Rings universe. In this game, you play as dwarves who are attempting to explore and retake Moria for dwarf-kind.
