March 2026 Archives

Posted on March 30
Today, I made the final push that brought my last Dawntrail-ready alt all the way through FFXIV patch 7.4. This makes the 6th character I’ve completed this run on, and thankfully, I have no other alts that are anywhere near starting Dawntrail. I’m fairly much mentally done re-running this content.

Wayrift – 24 Years of Webcomics

Posted on March 26
Today is the celebration of the 24th anniversary of Wayrift, our ongoing webcomic. Ten years ago, I wrote a post very much like this on this blog, which you can find here. On that post, I created an image that compared the older art to the art of 14. So, today, I’ve taken that image and created an updated image that adds 2026 next to that.

Update on Quest Calendar 2026: The Souls of Saraku

Posted on March 25
Back in January, I wrote about playing the solo, DM-less RPG quest calendar for 2026. The theme for this year was an iffy one for me, but after taking a break from the quest calendar in 2025, I decided to back the Kickstarter for this one anyhow. What do I think about it so far?

When you have a large library of games, sometimes it’s hard to figure out what you want to play. This is a weekend ritual for Syn and I – always asking: “So what do you want to play this weekend?” We began tackling this question with what I call a weekend gaming rotation.

Steam Gaming: Cast n Chill – Semi-Idle Cozy Fishing Game

Posted on March 18
Those of you who’ve been around here a while know I love a good fishing game. Good horse games, too, but that’s besides the point! I feel like Cast n Chill does a lot of things right, so let’s dive into it!

FFXIV: Patch 7.5 Trail to the Heavens - Live Letter Breakdown

Posted on March 13
Today’s Live Letter dropped a lot of exciting information for upcoming patch 7.5 in FFXIV! In fact, this might be the most hyped I’ve been through all of Dawntrail.

OSRS: Membership Subscription Price Increase (Again)

Posted on March 12
This week, RuneScape and Old School RuneScape players were informed that the cost of the membership subscription would be increasing. Again. This is the second time this has increased since I’ve started playing, and it’s not a good look.

This past weekend in FFXIV, I spent some time focusing on leveling up the final job on Amon to cap. This happened to be Blue Mage.

FFXIV: Red Mage Obscurum Phantom Relic Weapon

Posted on March 7
It’s been what feels like a very long road, but last night, I finally earned the Obscurum Phantom Relic for my Red Mage! Much thanks to Syn who stuck by me for all these roulette runs even though she’d finished hers a lot earlier than I did. This is because she also does weekly raid runs, and even at 8 tomes a run, those add up.

Sims 4 Announces New Virtual Marketplace

Posted on March 5
Remember that post I wrote last month with rumors of an incoming Sims 4 virtual currency? Turns out, it wasn’t a rumor (to no one’s surprise). Two days ago, EA announce the official Sims 4 marketplace, with a video and full FAQ and everything!

Yesterday, something important happened in FFXIV – patch 7.45 dropped. What came with that patch was something I’ve been waiting on for many months. No, I’m not talking about new the Variant dungeon, which is apparently getting a mixed response. I’m talking about my home server finally opening for transfers and new characters.

FFXIV: Completing Dawntrail Again -- Grappling with Burnout

Posted on March 3
I have a goal of finishing up Dawntrail for all of my alts before Fanfest in late April this year. I buckled down and made it through Dawntrail on Ben last night – this makes my 5th time through the expansion. I have one alt left to push through, which will probably be my toughest alt given it’s Tai on Reaper, and I have little to no experience playing melee in this expansion’s difficulty level.
